Administration


The City of Fayetteville’s Administrative Department is housed in the Municipal Building located on the east side of one of Tennessee’s most beautiful squares. In accordance to the Charter of the City of Fayetteville, the City Administrator's primary responsibility is to implement the policies and programs of the elected Board of Mayor and Aldermen and oversee the day-to-day operations of the City.  

The Administrative staff oversees various functions for all City Departments and the Board of Mayor and Aldermen, including grant administration, assisting with the coordination of economic and community development and capital projects. The Finance Department is an integral part of the Administration and works to provide the annual budget for the City. Other duties of the Finance Department include payroll, purchasing and taxes/fees collections. 

Also housed in the Fayetteville Municipal Building is the Planning and Codes Department and the Information Technology (IT) Department. 

The Municipal Building has three meeting facilities which the community may use for specific purposes. Several office spaces are leased to local businesses.
