Greenway/Riverwalk Master Plan

Transportation Alternative Grant Project
In August of 2015, the Tennessee Department of Transportation awarded the City of Fayetteville a Transportation Alternatives Program grant for Phase I of the City of Fayetteville Greenway + Blueway Master Plan. The $313,432.00 project is classified as the “Fayetteville Square to Park Connector.”

The primary feature of the project will be the construction of a pedestrian connector from the downtown area to Stone Bridge Parks along the banks of Norris Creek in one segment. The project also includes ADA upgrades, signage, a boardwalk, landscaping, pedestrian amenities and pedestrian lighting.

The current status of the project is in the “Preliminary Engineering for Final Design Phase.” A Public Hearing was held on July 11, 2017 to hear public comments regarding the Design proposal and Right-of-Way discussion. The goal is to be under construction by Spring of 2018.
